Danish Agro acquires Danish auction house

06/06/2018

Danish Agro has concluded a deal for the acquisition of Dansk Maskinbørs.

The deal is part of Danish Agro's strategy within agricultural machinery, and Dansk Maskinbørs will play a key role in the group's future sales of used machinery in Denmark and abroad.

Dansk Maskinbørs celebrates its 40th anniversary in the Danish machinery sector in 2019, and has developed into a market leader within physical and online auctions within recent years. Owner and Managing Director Johannes Jensen will continue at the head of the company. The skilled personnel and physical premises in Herning will also be retained.

Danish Agro's CEO, Henning Hahr, is extremely satisfied with the deal:

"Efficient sales of used machinery is a key aspect of the Danish Agro group's strategy within this sector. Dansk Maskinbørs has consistently shown that it masters the art of selling used machinery. I am delighted to have been able to conclude a deal with Johannes Jensen, who leads a highly professional and experienced organisation. I am also delighted that he will continue to head Dansk Maskinbørs for the time to come, enabling us to benefit from his experience and to develop the business."

Johannes Jensen, Managing Director of Dansk Maskinbørs, also looks forward to the collaboration.

"The deal with Danish Agro will ensure that Dansk Maskinbørs continues its close and mutually beneficial relationship with Danish farmers. There will always be a need to move used machinery, and working with Danish Agro and my skilled team of people, I know that the company has exciting times ahead. I look forward to helping satisfy even more customers."

CEO of Danish Agro's machinery division, Jens Skifter, regards Dansk Maskinbørs as an excellent match for the Danish Agro group.

"Our strategy right from the start has included the development of a business trading in used machinery, and the acquisition of Dansk Maskinbørs is of course a major step towards fulfilment. We will now define the way we move forward with our distribution infrastructure and corporate organisation in Denmark. The sale of used machinery from our own dealers and now from Dansk Maskinbørs puts us in a strong position on the market.
